Well looks like we have got what we wanted finally, a good stretch of summer sunshine! With no beach nearby my two have to do with the back garden with a paddling pool, watering can and sand pit (I hate sandpits FYI, but when it comes to children these things are worth their weight in gold). They will spend as many as weekends as possible in Kerry over the the summer with a choice of beaches near my parents house, but in between its Costa Del La Back Garden. While I sit in the garden writing this, the forecast says it's hotter than Greece, some even say the Caribbean…sure who needs a holiday and clear blue water, sandy beaches and pina coladas on tap when you can have plastic paddling pools, cold water from the garden hose, sand all over the house from the sand pit and putting up the parasol, just in case you need to shelter from the rain!!
This gorgeous weather that has hit the Irish shores meant I could finally let the kids put on their swimsuits and let them run around barefoot in the garden without fearing another trip to the Dr with snotty noses, coughs and another weeks salary handed over to the pharmacy, and unleash the box of summer goodies Marks and Spencer sent us recently. Having worked with them last month and choose some beautiful bits from their Kids Summer Collection, see here, that have washed and worn well, I was excited to get the other pieces that I reluctantly didn't add to my basket last time. For Harry I wanted to get some casual t-shirts/shorts, because I've realised now that, that boy just wants to be comfy and dirties clothes within seconds, so clothes that are age appropriate and wash well (these will be washed 100's of times) were high on the list.
For a little look at what pieces we have decided to wear from Marks and Spencer's summer collection see the video below.
A link to each piece here:
I've also had a look through their Back To School Range, While we are (thank goodness not at that stage yet, you can read about why I made the decision to hold on to Amelia until she is 5.5 years before starting school here) it hasn't stopped me having a look, and some fellow bloggers such as Sinead from Bumbles of Rice and Kelly from My Little Babog have written pieces on the reasons they choose Marks and Spencer's uniforms for their kids. With Easy Iron Fabric, Velcro tie top shirts, easy adjust waistbands, sensitive skin fabric and their stormwear colection, it's easy to see why it's one of the top selling range of school uniforms in Ireland and the UK.
And with return to school in mind, how gorgeous is this Mac from their women’s colection, I know it’s something I will get so much wear out of through the summer into the Autumn.
Happy Holidays and Happy shopping, hope this inspires you for all those holiday essentials!
